My back is facing the downward slope (the icon on skies) of the mountain, the only thing above me is the cloudy snow filled sky. Hoping that no patches of ice lay below my flexed feet i begin to initiate pressure to my toes forcing the edges of my snowboard to grab the mountainside. After initiating my first turn, I have officially begun the journey down the mountain. Picking up speeds, feeling the crisp cool mountain air on my already windburned cheeks, the contours of the mountain begin to force my legs muscles to embrace and counteract gravity. The faster I go the more responsive my snowboard becomes to even the most subtle change in pressure.
